Nick Mitchell Head Coach Nick Mitchell, former assistant head football coach at Humboldt State University, enters his third season as head coach at Golden West College. Mitchell enters into his third season with Rustler Football. Prior to arriving at GWC, Mitchell spent the previous three seasons as the assistant head coach at Humboldt State University, coaching the defensive backs and coordinating the special teams. After graduating from Humboldt State in 1997, Coach Mitchell served one year as defensive backs coach at Northern State University in South Dakota, then one season as defensive backs coach, strength & conditioning coordinator and West Coast recruiting coordinator at Eastern New Mexico University. Mitchell then moved back to the west coast for his second stint at Humboldt State as the defensive backs coach before moving on to Contra Costa College where he spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator. Coach Mitchell was a starter at Humboldt State during the 1994 and 1995 seasons, when the program posted 8-2 and 8-1-1 records, respectively. He joined Humboldt’s staff as a student assistant during the 1996 season, overseeing the development of Humboldt State University's defensive backs. |

Mark Lamoreaux Strength & Conditioning Coach Mark Lamoreaux joined the Golden West coaching staff in 2006 and heads the Rustlers strength and conditioning program. Lamoreaux spent the 2002-2003 season at Humboldt State serving as student assistant strength and conditioning coach before moving up to the graduate assistant position for the next two years. In 2005, he was that assistant strength and conditioning coach at Auburn University before moving to Golden West. As a player, Lamoreaux led Humboldt State’s defense in sacks and tackles for a loss during his senior year. Lamoreaux has a master’s degree from Humboldt State in kinesiology. In his off time, he enjoys going to the beach, watching college and professional games, and fishing. He resides in Huntington Beach. |

David Robinson With 20 years of coaching experience, Robinson brings his extensive knowledge of the game to GWC for his first season with the Rustlers. Son of legendary football coach, John Robinson, David has seen plenty of big games as an assistant coach, including six Bowl appearances, most notably, the 1996 Rose Bowl and 1995 Cotton Bowl. David graduated from Long Beach State in 1987 after earning all-league recognition at Sonora High School and a national title at Fullerton College. He and his wife, Arleen, live in Buena Park. |

Jeff Cheek Offensive Line - Coordinator Coach Cheek begins his second season with the Rustlers. In 2006, Cheek was the defensive line coach at Humboldt State. In the 2004 season he was the offensive line coach at Eastern Oregon University. Cheek played at Boise State for three seasons and was a member of two Conference Championships and Bowl Championship teams. Coach Cheek graduated from Boise State with a Bachelors of Science in Social Science. |

Dan Odell Quarterbacks Coach Odell has eleven years of coaching and his second at Golden West. Odell will be coaching the quarterbacks for the Rustlers. Prior to coming to Golden West, Odell coached the quarterbacks at University of Illinois from 2001-2005. As a player, Coach Odell was named the WAC offensive Player-of-the-Week two times as quarterback for San Jose State University. Coach Odell graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Psychology. |

Milt Tenno Running Backs Coach Tenno will begin this fifteenth season as an assistant with the Rustler program. Beginning in 1979, Tenno spent his first three seasons coaching at Los Alamitos High before a one-year stint at La Quinta High. He then served as the defensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Bolsa Grande High from 1984 through 1990, helping the Matadors to a CIF Championship in 1986. He spent the next two seasons in the same capacity at Los Amigos High before coming to Golden West College. With a graduate degree in history from UC Riverside, Tenno begins his twenty-third year teaching at Los Amigos High. He and his wife Linda live in Costa Mesa with their two sons Andrew (13) and Alex (12). Tenno uses his spare time to fish in the Sierras and watch his sons play sports. |

Derrick Watkins Coach Derrick Watkins is a local product of Marina High School and former GWC standout. He will coach the Rustler defensive line in 2008. |

Tony Dodge Wide Receivers Coach Tony Dodge begins his third season at Golden West. Prior to his arrival at Golden West, Coach Dodge was the junior varsity defensive coordinator and the varsity defensive backs coach for three seasons at Fountain Valley High School . On the field, Dodge started at corner for Santa Barbara City College and at free safety for Chapman College . Coach Dodge earned a Bachelors of Arts in History from Chapman University . He enjoys golf, football, and softball in his spare time. |
