9/12/08 - The GWC Men's Team finished the week with a tough victory over Victor Valley 2-0. They were able to get a goal in the first half from Freshman forward Austin Rovazinni from the PK spot. In the second half, Freshman Chris Pizarro fed a perfect pass to Sophomore Javier Ramirez who calmly finished the play with his first goal of the season and led the team to its second straight victory.

Golden West is back in action on Tuesday the 16th of September as they play host to Long Beach City College at 4:00pm.

9/9/08 - The GWC Men's Soccer Team followed the Women's lead in the second half of the double header with a win of their own to even their record at 2-2. The Rustlers defeated San Diego City with a score of 2 to 1. After going down a goal in the first half, they leveled the score at 1 a piece when Austin Rovazzini broke free in the box and sent a ball across the goal for Marvin Carvajal to tap in for the equalizer. Marvin wasn't done on the score sheet as he drew a penalty late in the second half and converted to seal the victory for the Rustler Men.

9/5/08 - Despite outplaying El Camino for much of the match, the Rustlers could not produce enough goals for the victory. Golden West dropped a 2-1 decision to El Camino. Failing to score a goal in the first half of play where they controlled possession may have cost the team the victory. El Camino scored the game's first goal with an outside strike that found the inside of the post midway through the second half. Yet, GWC came back strong with a goal from a corner kick as defender Diego Flores headed in the equalizer. While pushing up for the winner, GWC played some sloppy defense and gave up a goal to put themselves in an even more desperate situation. They continued to push and increased their chances to score, but it just seemed to not be their night as the opposing keeper came up big saves towards the end.

Rustlers take on San Diego City at 7:00pm on September 9th.

9/2/08 - The Rustlers defend home turf and take the W on their first home game for the 2008 season. The score remained deadlocked at 0-0 at halftime, but GWC opened the scoring in the 55th minute when Evan McCallough got open on the left flank and switched the ball to the backpost where Justin Thompson headed the ball into the net to put the Rustlers on the board, 1-0. Ten minutes later, Richard Nulanz found the ball at his feet with the keeper out, and he took advantage of the opportunity with a curling shot that was deposited into the back of the net. SB Vally hit a great strike off the post and into the goal pulling them within one, 2-1. GWC continued to apply pressure on the offensive end allowing, Austin Rovazzini to strike with his first goal of the game, and third for the season.

Men's Soccer will be back in action on Friday, at 6:00pm at home verse El Camino.

8/30/08 - The GWC Men's team came out strong on the road verse Pasadena. They trailed by a goal at halftime, but they took control of the match with 3 straight goals in the second half. Austin Rovazzini scored 2 goals early in the 48th and 50th minutes before Luis Espinoza added a third for the Rustlers in the 58th minute. The team couldn't hold its lead as Pasadena scored 3 straight goals from throw-ins and added another late to hold off GWC in a 3-5 decision for the first game of the season.

7/21/08 - Soccer tryouts/training begins with its summer program on Monday, July 21st. The Men's Team practices daily from 3:30-6:30 pm. Bring cleats and running shoes to workouts.
