09/17/2008 - GWC continued to roll with its fourth win in a row overall and second to start conference play with a 2-1 win at Fullerton. Brittney Whittemore scored both goals on assists from Courtney Kolovos in the first half, and the Women Rustlers held on to win a tough game on the road.

09/12/2008 - The Rustler Women were coming off their first win of the season, and they put together a very strong game to beat Victor Valley 1-0. GWC capped off a solid week with the two wins and look to start conference next Tuesday on a roll. Brittney Whittemore slotted the winning goal in the 51st minute off a combination pass with fellow Sophomore Babe Bower. The defense anchored by GK Veronica Helguerra and Sweeper Yessenia Ocampo played well to post their second shutout in as many games.

09/9/2008 - The GWC Women's Soccer Team got on track with a 3-0 victory at home against San Diego City College. Freshman Brittany Woodward scored two goals in the first half, and Babe Bower added the exclamation point with a goal early in the second half as the Rustler Women finished with a solid 3-0 win. Veronica Helguera had 3 saves to post the shutout win.

09/5/2008 -The GWC Women's team had their best opportunity for their first win of the season as they had the lead with only minutes left in the game, but a last second ditch effort by El Camino was able to beat the goalie and put one in the back of the net to tie the game.

Rustlers were coming off of two straight 2-1 defeats, but they took the lead just prior to halftime when Lisa Noldan sent Freshman Brittney Woodward through with a slotted pass down the wing. Brittney accelerated, passing 3 defenders before beating the keeper to the near post. Despite having a few center midfielders missing due to injuries in the second half, the Rustlers couldn't hold off El Camino and settled for the tie.

The Women will try for a win on Tuesday, September 9th against San Diego City at 5:00pm.

09/2/2008 - GWC played a very quality opponent in SB Valley, who made the 2nd round of playoffs in 2007, and the Rustler Women battled toe-to-toe with them on the field. SB Valley went up in the 28th minute with a goal and followed with another 3 minutes later. Rustlers did not give up however, and had quite a few very good chances at goal towards the end of the half but could not convert. They continued to press into the second half of play, and their pressure paid off with a free kick just outside the penalty box which was converted by Yessenia Ocampo. GWC continued to press their opponents, but ran out of time to tie up the score. "It was a much improved result for the Rustler Women and hopefully sets them in the right direction for the rest of the season to come," stated coach Wells after the game.

The lady Rustlers are home again on Friday, September 5th as the take on El Camino at 4:00pm.

08/30/2008 - The GWC Women's team played a difficult Pasadena team and came up short in their opening game. Despite out shooting the opponent 10-5, they only found the net once when Yessenia Ocampo hit a long range shot to score in the 44th minute off a pass from Jean Escobar. The Rustlers controlled large portions of the match, but couldn't quite execute to get the result that they needed.

The Women play their first home game of the season on Tuesday, September 2nd at 3:00 pm.

07/21/2008 - Soccer tryouts/training begins with its summer program on Monday, July 21st. The Women's Team practices daily from 2:30-5:00 pm. Bring cleats and running shoes to workouts.
