Purpose:

The purpose of the Faculty Excellence Awards is to recognize the extraordinary contributions and quality service of full and part-time faculty members supporting the mission of Golden West College. Each month a designated constituency will have the opportunity to honor faculty who are committed to excellence in the areas of faculty performance:

Teaching and Learning
Student Success
Innovation and Research
Leadership and Service
Active promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Eligibility:

Current full and part-time Golden West College Faculty Members, Counselors, and Librarians
Has not received an award in that category in the past two years. Refer below for a list of previous nominees. (For example, recipients of a past ESLA award cannot be nominated again for an ESLA in a two-year time period).

April - Faculty Members, Management, and Classified staff.

Peer Excellence in Teaching - recognized by GWC Faculty

Keisha Cosand, English
Nomination statement: In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Stacey actively participates in various professional development opportunities, consistently seeking ways to enhance her pedagogical skills and stay abreast of the latest advancements in her field. Her commitment to continuous improvement reflects her deep commitment to delivering the highest quality of education to our students. Stacey's involvement in departmental activities is equally noteworthy. Her enthusiastic participation in various departmental initiatives and collaborative endeavors has contributed to a sense of unity and shared purpose among her colleagues. Furthermore, her role as a certified data coach underscores her expertise and leadership in leveraging data-driven insights to enhance educational outcomes.

Stacy Morrow, Mathematics (part-time faculty)
Nomination statement: Stacey's commitment to education is truly commendable, particularly in her role as an instructor for the "Introduction to Statistics" course. Her dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment and promoting student engagement has made a significant impact on our students' academic journeys. Through her innovative teaching methods and approachable demeanor, she has successfully guided students through the complexities of statistics, instilling in them a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Stacey is widely recognized for her kindness and unwavering support for her students and colleagues alike. Her approachable nature and willingness to lend a helping hand have fostered a positive and inclusive atmosphere within our academic community. In light of her exceptional contributions to Golden West College, I believe it is only fitting that we express our heartfelt gratitude for Stacey Morrow's dedication, expertise, and positivity.
