NextUp/Guardian Scholars Program provides a range of services and resources for current and former foster youth/wards of the court who are interested in pursuing a college education. Our goal is to assist NextUp/Guardian Scholars students to increase their confidence as educated, self-reliant individuals with the skills to become strong role models and future community leaders.

What is NextUp?

NextUp (also known as Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support Program, CAFYES) is a supplemental program of the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) program. NextUp is designed to assist current or former foster youth whose dependency was established or continued by the court on or after a students 16th birthday.The program assists qualified students balance their needs with financial assistance and additional support services.Learn more about NextUp

What is Guardian Scholars?

Guardian Scholars Program was established to support current and former foster youth students achieve their educational goals. The program provides a safe haven for students to obtain information related to education, financial aid, housing, food, and other educational or basic necessities.The combination of support services and dedicated staff contribute to our Guardian Scholars retention and achievement of their educational and personal goals.
