Golden West College welcomed the it’s first Nursing Concurrent Enrollment Pathway (CEP) cohort on Saturday, August 26. The CEP program is a historical moment for GWC’s nursing program as the College partners with California State University, San Bernardino to provide nursing students with an accelerated educational pathway to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at an affordable cost.

Students who are part of the CEP cohort will earn credit toward their bachelor’s degree while completing their coursework at GWC. Full-time CEP students will then be able to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing at CSUSB just six months after completing their associate’s degree at Golden West.

“These types of partnerships are crucial to our community and healthcare stakeholders because they promote accessible and affordable streamlined education to applicants who traditionally may not have earned admission into a nursing program due to the competitive nature of impacted programs,” says School of Nursing Director and Associate Dean Alice Martanegara. “The CEP provides a pathway for GWC to quickly trained highly skilled nurses into the workforce to support a national nursing shortage and serve our surrounding communities.”
